For anyone planning an "own your own" day excursion to Atlantis, here's a deal that is posted at Travelzoo. You can use the room for just a few hours, check out and save a whole lotta $ over what DCL charges for the excursion.
Travel dates: Through Dec. 21
By Travelzoo Staff
Book by Sept. 26 and you can stay at the world-famous Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, for only $129 per night. This incredible deal will save you up to 50% OFF the regular rates.
The special offer applies to Sunday-Wednesday stays through Dec. 21 . Weekend rates start at just $30 more.
You can also get a great deal on upgraded rooms and towers:
$129 ... Beach Towers, located near the beach
$159 ... Coral Towers, more centrally located
$189 ... Royal Towers, in the heart of the action near the casino, spa, restaurants and most attractions
Bonus: As part of this special offer, you can add a Dolphin Cay Shallow Water interaction for $59 per person (regularly $120) or a Deep Water swim for $99 per person (regularly $180).
Atlantis was ranked No. 1 Best Resort Casino and No. 1 Best Family Vacation Resort in the 2007 Caribbean Travel & Life Readers? Choice Awards. It's also recently completed several new attractions: Aquaventure water park, Mandara Spa, Aura nightclub and Dolphin Cay, where you can swim with dolphins.
Blackout Dates: Nov. 26-29; Dec. 11-13

Thanks for posting this!!!! I haven't seen my Travelzoo offers yet today but I'm thinking we're going to jump on this for the SR cruise.
On our cruise during the first week of September (yes, a trip report will be forthcoming) we had a reservation at the Comfort Suites (I think that's the name) across the street and that allowed access to Atlantis. Well, Hanna decided to chase us a bit and DCL changed our itinerary and we found out about it when we got to Port Canaveral. After scrambling around we were able to cancel our day (booked privately through Priceline) but the cost to move to another day was substantially more so we decided that we would just enjoy the ship while in Nassau.
The first night at sea there was an announcement that we were going to be in Nassau on our original day. We cancelled the trip for nothing!!! Oh, well, life was still good and we figured we would try again another time.
THIS WILL BE PERFECT!!!!
It was going to be perfect..... I guess we'll be there on Friday which will be a weekend rate....... sigh....... it still might happen!

Yep, perfect!!!!! I did call them about this today. The rate is $309 since it's a weekend, and there is a two-night minimum :(
We're going to do the DCL Atlantis beach day... $65 each with lunch and transportation since we are 3 adults works out really well for us.

I'm hoping for a week in Atlantis next year. I was set to go last year and had to cancel. I love that place.

Yeah, that was a bit of an "ouch!" with the 2-night minimum. You may see PD and I out for the beach day, too. If not there, we'll be at the Cove Cafe, (Deck 9 forward) sipping some delectable concoction before going down the slippery slope of Bahama Mamas.
