So, this is my first trip report, so bear with me a bit...Let me just start off by saying...1 Day is NOT enough to do Disneyland and California Adventure with 2 babies under the age of 2!!!!

Cast of Characters....
ME
DH
DD11
DS1
BFF-Best Friend
BFF DS19months-Cutest little man ever (besides my DS of course)
L-My good friend who works with DH
B-19 Year old single co-worker of DH
LH-L's Dad and also a co-worker of DH
MH-L's Mom.

Our craziness started Friday morning when I got the brilliant idea to convince my BFF to join us on our whirlwind trip. Convinced her DH to let her take their 19 month old DS to Disney for the first time without him. Booked the airfare ($270 roundtrip out the door for a same day trip, not bad). Had my DH contact his employer to see if they minded if she came with us to the picnic (if they had minded she would have just gone to the public part of the beach for the day, but they didn't care). Got off work, had a massage, picked up BFF's DS's shot records at the doctor so he could get on the plane, picked up new hat at Gymboree to match my DS's swim trunks, picked up DD at school, run home, pack car, get BFF's stuff in car, load 3 adults (1 on crutches), 1 pre-teen and 2 babies into the car and off to the airport we went. Made it through security, Oh my gosh, with babies it is a nightmare, take all shoes off (including the babies that don't walk), take EVERYTHING out of the strollers, fold the strollers so they can go through the scanner, have them look through the diaper bag because they saw the jars of baby food in the scanner and they have to make sure it is really baby food, collect everything on the other side (with DH sitting in his wheelchair with the skycap watching), load the stollers back up, and head to the ticket counter. We made it to the plane just in time to pre-board (the plus to having a DH with a broken foot on crutches), saved seats for our whole party and just as we are about to take off, the very friendly flight attendant tells us...only 1 baby per row because there are only 4 masks that drop down. Easy fix, throw DS over the seat to the row in front of us with DD, L and B, I thought the flight attendant was going to die laughing when we did this. We had the best flight attendant, we asked for extra peanuts, gave us the whole bag (probably close to 30 little plane packets), we asked for "wings" for the babies, brought out 2 kits with wings, color books and a tri-color pencil, plus a little bag of about 10 sets of plastic wings, the gentleman next to us got something in red packet (our peanuts were in blue), so we asked what they were...Pretzels...she gave us the whole bag of those too. And she was cracking jokes and making us all laugh hysterically. Flight landed, no screaming babies, whooo... made it off the plane, out to luggage, got the rental car, after a few "snags" with the horrible car seat I rented (never rent a car seat, it was the cheapest thing out there and it wasn't safe) we made it to the hotel, had dinner and off to the rooms we went. Our room was Me, DH, DD, DS, BFF and BFF DS, we had a joining room with L and B. It wasn't the best room, but we didn't care, just wanted somewhere to sleep. DH went to take a shower and it didn't work...crap...called the front desk, they will send someone in the morning. Off to bed we all went.

Saturday Morning....Disney Day!!!

Get up, shower in B and L's room because our's is broken, get dressed, go down to the free breakfast at the hotel, then off to catch the shuttle.

When we made it to the park, there wasn't hardly anyone there yet!!!

Which made it easy to rent the ECV (Electric Convenience Vehicle), or Zippy as we called it, and head out to get the kids their ears.

After a quick visit for the 2 kids that were awake with Mickey and Pluto, we were off to Nemo!!

Nemo was great. For anyone who hasn't been on it yet, I suggest you do. After Nemo, DD and L decided to go driving...

While we took care of ordering DS's birthday gift (we got his name done in Princes), dirty diapers and letting BFF DS run wild. Once they were done, it was off to Space Mountain for DD and L, while DH held her ears.

Then onto the train in Tomorrowland, to get off in New Orleans Square for my Monte Christo lunch. Little did I know that they are refurbishing the station, so we had to get off in ToonTown. No Monte Christo for me. We decided to hit the little mexican restaurant and got chosen for a Year of a Million Dreams lunch, which they seated us and waited on us. The coolest thing about it was sitting next to the fountain and watching the birds.

Or all the birds coming in the restaurant.

Your TR is making me want to go. I am so glad DL is so close to us. My hubby loves WDW but airline prices are so high that I think our trip in January will be our last one for a very long time. SO at least we can drive to DL sometime.

Keep it coming!

After lunch we decided to split up, DH, DD and L went to California Adventure to join MH and LH. BFF and I stayed in Disneyland with the two babies. We went to the Winnie The Pooh ride (I still miss Country Bears Jamboree though) and then on Pirates of the Caribbean. Both boys thought both rides were really fun. I was actually a little shocked that DS did not freak out with the first drop on POTC. We did a little shopping, then went to the Carnation Cafe to share a bannana split and watch the Parade. Now mind you, it is September 6, probably about 90 degrees out with no breeze and the sun baking off the blacktop. The boys are hot and tired of riding in their strollers, so the ice cream was a huge hit. As was the parade. The cafe sits right where they have a crossing area on Main Street and the parade security woudl not let anyone just stand in that area, so it was great for us because our parade view was not blocked and the kids were not completely bored waiting for it to come by. Unfortunately, our photographer and camera were in CA Adventure, so we don't have any pics of this.

During this time, the "kids" in CA Adventure were having loads of fun. DD wanted to go on California Screaming, she has refused to go on it several times before, so DH was happy to take her on it.

They also went on the rapids ride to cool off a bit.

And after a flight on Soarin' Over California, it was back to Disneyland to meet up with us. Now it was time for Splash Mountain. BFF and LH stayed behind with the babies (they were the smart ones, because we got SOAKED).

Then it was off to Toon Town.

Looks like it was a blast even if it was a fly by the seat of your pants trip.
From past experiance I think those are the most memorable and fun.
Scary part is you dont really know what you are going to get into until you do it. :rotfl:

I love Disneyland! I can't wait to go back. We are still trying to decide when to go. Sounds like a fun trip.
