Martini tasting
We had a martini tasting at 5:15, there were probably about 10 Sunshine crew who attended. I don't think the rest of the attendees knew what they were getting into. We were all a little giggly just coming from the wine tasting. Our first martini was a REAL martini.
Tricia loved hers.

The next martini's were an apple martini, chocolate martini, one with Jim Beam and can't remember the next one ( I wonder why).
I was elected to go up and make a chocolate martini which was fun but oops I poured too much vodka into the shaker and had to make a martini enough for two.
We had a great time and our teacher was a hoot.
Don't we look happy?

I was happy on day 2 that the boat stopped moving for awhile. I got out into Nasseau and walked around a bit. I hiked up to the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle. I also wandered the grounds of Government House (which I'm not sure I was supposed to do) and wandered through the Straw Market.
After all that activity I was glad to get back to some air conditioning and eat lunch. I don't remember what I did for the rest of the afternoon. Which is kind of bad since I wasn't in on the wine or martini tasting. I did go to the show that night, which was Toy Story musical. MissAngie's kids had grabbed a front row seat and were nice enough to share. You have a couple of great kids Angie!
I did manage to eat dinner that night, although we started moving shortly after the show and I definately knew it. Later that night a group met for some fun. I only lasted until midnight before the motion got to me again. Given that I think this may be my last cruise :(

Day two started for us with room service. I don't think we made it to a real breakfast until the last day. We put the kids in camp and headed into Nassau. We hadn't really planned on going, but the Meeks convinced us. This is my favorite picture from Nassau. It was in the initial mall/visitor area.

We did a little shopping, but it was kind of rainy. I strongly suggest trying the liquor stores because they give out free samples of the rums. After we tried just about every one of them, we bought a couple. :)
The straw market was also a success. I'm not saying we bought anything, but if you were in the market for some fake Coach, Kate Spade, etc., bags, you might find them there. You also might find movies on DVD that haven't even been released to the public yet for $5.
We made our way back onto the ship for lunch and hit the buffet again. I didn't like day two buffet as well as day one. But I needed to carb load before the wine tasting.
After some walking and hanging out, it was time for the wine tasting. It was held in Palo and the SR crew was about 11 of the 20 people there. It was fun, but it was hard to understand one of the teachers. Of course, that didn't make us laugh at all. LOL! I liked all of the white and a little of the red. Worth the money if you want to try some new wines or just gain a better appreciation.
Our kids were growing weary of camp by then, so we all headed back to the cabin for a rest. The girls watched the ever-playing Disney movies on the tv while I read and SG took a nap on the balcony.
We took the kids back to the club and headed to the Castaway Club member party. They had chocolate dipped Mickey Rice Krispy treats!! I think we ended up with about 7 of them altogether. (I'm actually eating one as we speak).
Next was the martini tasting--probably one of the most fun hours on the whole trip. Again, we were over half of the room. I did the martini tasting two years ago and almost all of the martinis were different this time. That was really neat! You can see that I enjoyed mine:

Yummy as they were, I think I only drank about six. :) I didn't drink the original martini or much of the Jim Beam one. But I drank an extra of the green one and filled up the cup again with Traci's chocolate one.

Oh my goodness, it has been a whirlwind week. I have just now found time to upload some picks to share. I am cracking up at SunshineGuy in the fancy get up in Nassau. I can't wait to show you my DH! We enjoyed day two after a very rocky night on the water. My entire family was down for the count at about 6:30 p.m. My DH runs on about 5 hours of sleep a night and ended up sleeping about 14 hours that first night. We were totally unprepared for 12' waves and a rocky ship. Next time we'll know better to take the motion sickness meds well before we leave port and then again after! We booked another cruise while on board and reserved a room lower on the ship to help minimize the effects.
Day 2 started in port at Nassau. My DH was convinced that you can't really say you have been to the Bahamas unless your feet actually walk on the land so while we had planned to fully enjoy the 3 days onboard, we decided to head ashore for a bit. We quickly convinced the SG and SG to go with us. I was disappointed with the touristy feel as we entered the country and was scared a bit by all of the people who wanted to braid your hair or give you a tour or rent you a scooter, etc. Although, everyone was incredibly kind. I have never been called pretty lady or pretty girl so many times in the same day! And barter--those people are willing to barter. In the straw market, you don't ever have to pay the first price. You have to talk them down. I won't mention any names, but someone got a very nice deal on a purchase in the market. My DS was amazed that he was allowed to walk right on into the liquor stores with us. We enjoyed tasting the local varieties of rum. They were all very good, but I decided on coconut and banana. Oh, now I need a mixed drink!
Of course, the rest of the day consisted of wine, martinis, pirates, fireworks, more wine, martinis, and karaoke. If you get to see pictures from later in the day, you will really get a feel for how fun the evening was.
Here's one of my favorites from day two:

Toy Story the Musical!
Megan sat right down front with my kids! They absolutely loved you Megan. You were the best thing on the whole cruise I think. They loved the Canada pencils and Halloween trinkets in their FE pocket and were so impressed that you enjoyed "hangin" with them.
I have several pics of the show, well right up until they made we shut off the camera, oops!
