Alrighty guys. August is exactly 36 hours away so its time to get ready for the challenge. I will update this post with everyone's progress on a weekly basis (I'll try for more often but definetly each week).
So now its up to you on number of days vs. minutes. I'll start. I"m aiming for 15 days of working out this month. I made about 10 days in July and I really need to increase this amount.
If you don't mind please update your posts according to your target. For example I would update mine 1/15 or 2/15 as I complete or 1/5 weeks. I am trying to estimate some of your goals to make them easy. If you don't like them let me know and we can adjust. Also you don't have to get really specific.
Here we go:
M 'n C - 5/15 days @ 40 mins per day
SunshineGirl - 4/16 days @ 30 mins per day
KittyKat - 3/5 weeks of 5 days per week @ 30 mins per day
Jacaluho - 3/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 25 mins per day
linanglab - 3/5 weeks of 5 days per week @ 35 mins per day (combined)
Wilsonfamily4 - 7/16 of biking
JNorth - 3/5 weeks of 1 days per week @ 15 mins per day
Coastalgirl - 3/5 weeks of walking 1.5 miles 3 days a week and swimming laps 4 days per week
PSL1013 - 3/5 weeks of 5 days per week @ 25 mins per day
wdwabby - 0/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 45 minutes/day
Mom2aPrincess - 2/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 30 minutes/day
zoodoyle - 3/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 30 minutes/day
llgray16 - 6/15 days @ 45 minutes/day
mseg16222 - 3/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 30 minutes/day
Magical JenK - 3/5 weeks of 3 days per week @ 30-45 minutes/day
bbangel - 3/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 45 minutes/day
LyndaM - 0/5 weeks of 5 days per week @ 30 minutes/day
Soccer Princess - 2/5 weeks of 4 days per week @ 30 minutes/day
speechteachri - 6/15 days @ 30 mins per day
mollyelis - 7/15 days for walking & 0/15 days for pilates for August
rygirlsmum - 3/5 weeks of 3 days/wk for an hour each day (cardio and weights)
disney girl - 3/5 weeks of 30 minutes a day/5 days a week either treadmill or outside
If you were bolded would you please check your pm and give us a status update even if you are not on par with your goal. :)

For me, it is minimum 4 days a week, minimum 30 minutes a day.
Kittykat
07-30-2007, 05:17 PM
I like to aim for five days a week (though one of those is a "cheat" day practicing golf) for at least a half hour each day.
I like to try to burn at least 1000 calories a week.
So somewhere among those three things is my *goal*. :p

5 days a week for me. For 30 minutes of aerobic type excercise (or walking on my treadmill on my "tired" days). Plus, 5 days a week I will do at least 5 minutes (I know, not very long, but it is a start) of muscle toning - either abs, buttocks, inner thighs, arms, etc.
Hoping by the time September comes, it will have become a habit! I have heard if you do something 30 or 40 days straight, it becomes a habit and you do it almost automatically....

This is just for August right? I know I want to up my goal for September.
So August goals are:
4 days a week 25 minutes of bike
3 days a week tummy excercises or pilates no time limit

Yes this is for August only. We can increase or decrease our goals for September.
I guess I should add that I am going to exercise no less than 40 minutes a day. So its 15 days with 40 mins or more.

I'm also going to go for 4 days a week...going to needs lots of pushing from you ladies! :rotfl: I'll probably only be able to guarantee 30 minutes a day this month...one of the busiest of the year for me with dd's birthday and getting back to school...and this year at a new school - first time I've ever switched schools....a little nervous...but back to the point....
4 days a week, at least 30 minutes each time

If someone wants to be my accountability partner, let me know! I may need a push, and if someone is going to be asking me if I did my workout, I know I WILL do it. I would be glad to bug someone....er....help someone with their routine.
For me, at least, it helps to have a person working with you for a goal...

This might be a good idea Catherine. Maybe you could pair up people as accountability partners and we can PM our partner each day to see if they have done their excercise. What does everyone else think about that? Would it be annoying? Or just enough of a push to get you to do it?

Well we can do an accountability thread for those that want someone to call them out if they aren't exercising. Would that work?? We could do that thread weekly and leave this one for updating your progress.

I'm pretty proud of myself. I did my 25 minutes and then I tackled dd 4's room. Total disaster. She likes to clean it up by herself, which means shoving things in the closet, doll bed, and under her own bed. I'm not done, but it's 95 out and I just said, hey, we're going swimming. DH has a concert tonight so we have all the time in the world to finish it up! I have been putting it off and putting it off. Plus, when I am really busy, I don't find time to snack!! :rotfl:

How do you join? Just start talking?
If so, after checking out the calendar, this month I want to do 14 sessions of 20 minute pilates, and I want to walk 14 times. Since I've already walked once, I'm 1/14 for walking. :)
I have my 20 year HS reunion on Sept 15th, and just a few months ago I was FAR bigger than I am now. So I already know that desperation can do wonders (along with moving to an urban area with sidewalks for walking, and weight watchers meals twice a day), and I'm quite sure I'm going to be even MORE desperate in the next 5 weeks! :p

If you don't mind I"m asking everyone to give me an update once per week with your official stats. Such as I completed week 1/5 or day 2/10 something like that so I can update it once per week. Otherwise feel free to chat away in here with what you have done each day/time.

I just made it back from the gym. Made it 35 mins on the eliptical and then cooled down my other 5 mins on the treadmill. I felt like I got a good workout but these blisters on my feet are killing me tonight. I definetly will need to look into a new solution to this.

I ran 2.5 miles and then God gave me a break and it started raining. So i ran in the house and did another 1.5 miles on the treadmill. 4 miles in 52 minutes. Not exactly where I want to be. But I'm okay with that since I know I haven't been doing very well the last few months.

I didn't get any exercise in really at all today. :( I had enough time between church and work to exercise but not exercise and shower again. But I purposely didn't count today in my goal cause I know it will be hard to fit it in on the Sundays I have to work. I think I will try to increase my time from 25 to 30 minutes this week. :)

never thought of it. Sun-Sat I guess. I figured since last week was a half week that we'd just meet half our goals if you are doing weekly goals. Hope this helps!

If you don't mind I"m asking everyone to give me an update once per week with your official stats. Such as I completed week 1/5 or day 2/10 something like that so I can update it once per week. Otherwise feel free to chat away in here with what you have done each day/time.
I saw today that the "week" started over on Sunday, so that's what my update will reflect.
I'm 2/14 on the walking, and 0/14 on pilates. oops! My calendar, where I mark my exercise, is starting to glare at me about the pilates, and it's still SO early in the month!

I think it counts Jen. In my opinion I've been doing so little that any walking is better than sitting home doing nothing! :)
