View Full Version : Questions...

I have two questions...
First, are we going to link our reservations so we eat dinner together since we're all late seating? (Or do we want to? I do!)
Secondly, is there a pirate party on the 3-day cruise? (I haven't read through the Navigators on WDWinfo yet)
and finally (I guess I have 3 questions), is anyone going to try for dinner at Palo (we are), and if so what night are you choosing?
I got my cruise documents out from our last cruise and also our DVD but I just loaned them to my friend so she doesn't have to wait for her own to arrive.

I was wandering about sitting with other Sunshiners as well when Gail asked if I had any seating requests. I felt like a loser saying no lol :)
I'm pretty sure there IS a pirate night on the cruise. I'm not actually dressing up though. I'll stick with the bandanna!
Is the Palo brunch available on the 3 night cruise or just the 4 and 7 nighters? I'm not sure if we will be trying for Palo dinner since this will be our first Disney Cruise and we want to be able to try all 3 restaurants -- Oh Tricia why didn't you make this 4 nights? lol. However, you all could convince me otherwise since I am easily swayed! ;)

I won't dress up either -- I think a tropical dress is in order for that night :) The Palo brunch is only offered on sea days (drats!) and there isn't a sea day on the 3-day. What one COULD do is get a Palo reservation early and then go to your regular dinner rotation late so you don't have to miss out on any restaurants. I don't know if we'll do that -- but I do kind of want to go back to Palo. It was phenominal!! DH and I went both for dinner and brunch on our 4-day. Animators Palate was my least favorite of the restaurants, but my friend has never been and I don't want her to miss that. I think if we can guess which night Parrot Cay is we might try to go that night. We were in Triton's for Pirate Night last time and they didn't have the regular menu but the Pirate one so I want to sample their regular menu next time.

We can link reservations, but we'll have our kids with us. :( Chances are pretty good that they will not want to eat with us (they've already been on two DCL cruises, so I'm not concerned about them missing anything at the dinners). But just in case they do decide to eat with us, some of you may not want to be around kids. LOL! Other than that, we would be happy to eat with everyone!
As far as I can find on the summer Navigators, they DO have Pirate night on the 3 nights. We did POC shirts and the bandanas that night. It was nice because it makes one of the "dress up" dinners actually a non-formal night because you are wearing some theme stuff.
Palo--Cindy said that Gail was going to check to see if they are at least having the High Tea thing. That would be my preference just because I hate to miss the formal dinners. Especially the one in Artist Palette, and we won't know which night we are getting that until we get there (which is probably too late to reserve for Palo anyway).
Two things I absolutely plan on doing--the Martini tasting and the Wine tasting. I'll definitely be saving my Disney gift cards for those! They aren't very expensive for as much alcohol as you get. And we could get a bunch of tables next to each other.

Do you know how many people they seat at each table? I would much rather sit with Sunshiners than other strangers lol. I think it's funny you have a sad face after stating your girls will be with you lol. I love kids, so not an issue for me (after all I am married to a big one!) :D
I didn't know Palo had a High Tea -- that would be great! I'm going to be right there with you for wine and martini tastings Tricia! lol What good is a cruise without alcohol of sorts? :) When is the big cruise contest going to start (please make it after I get back from my trip lol).

It's happy for US that our kids are going, but sad for those of you who want to avoid kids for various reasons. LOL! But really, I don't anticipate that we will see our kids too much on that trip. We barely saw them on the 7 day and 1) we were there longer, 2) they were younger, and 3) we made them eat with us most nights. This time, I don't care if they want to be in camp the whole time because this is more business than pleasure for us anyway. And they will be ages that they will both be in the same camp, which will make them want to be there even more.
The contest will be starting either October 1 or November 1 depending on when we can jump through all of the legal hoops. Rhode Island is REALLY difficult. Either way, it is going to run the whole way through about February. So you will still have plenty of chances to enter. :)

I love using a rewards site owned by someone with all the right values. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I like the idea of us eating together. I have no problem with kids, which is a good thing as they seem to gravitate towards me.
I'm wearing a Tiki theme dress for Pirate/tropical night. I already have it and don't have anything piratey (is that a word?). Of course that might change in 13 months. My mom keeps saying "This is for next year's trip right?" :rotfl:

We don't mind the kids either. As long as they're not mine :rotfl:

I would love to be able to sit with other Sunshiners. I'll be bringing DD8 and since this is our first cruise, I'm not sure how much she will want to be with me or in the camp. So as the previous posters have said, as long as no one minds eating with kids, I'm all for us trying to sit together.

Now what hoops little Rhody is making you jump through for the contest?
We have some of the dumbest laws.

I could not get DD7 and DS9 out of the club/lab when we went in January. They got themselves up and ready and were ready to pounce at the doors when they opened, LOL! I was SOOOOO impressed with the kids' counselors on this cruise. They played with the kids and were so amazing with them -- wish we had them here all the time :) We let them eat with their clubs the night we went to Palo, but made them eat with us the other nights but they would have just as soon eaten with their friends.
