I still have no electricity from Hurricane Humberto! :( I am at my mom's and hopefully will have it restored today! I went to bed Wed. night and knew a tropical storm was supposed to hit around Galveston, but the local weather people did not act like it was very much of a threat to us. After midnight it turned into a hurricane and hit us! I live in Bridge City, TX which is in extreme southeast Texas. A tornando touched down on my street and we (DD7 & I) were really scared! Anyway, it is over and now we are keeping our fingers crossed that we get power today. I missed two days worth of dailey surveys due to Humberto. Curse you Humberto!!:headache:

I'm sorry Kim. I have to admit this one caught me way off guard. I am usually a freak about watching out for hurricanes and the likes and I managed to miss this one until Thursday when I saw it at work and was hearing it was going to hit Galveston/Houston. We lucked out over here but it sounds like it got you instead :( I can't believe it managed to make it to a cat 1 before it hit land.

I can't believe that Humberto managed to go from a TD to a hurricane in a matter of hours (practically!).
I hope your power is restored ASAP. I know that after Ivan we were without power for nearly two weeks--absolute misery!!
So glad you are safe!!! Sorry you missed out on your SR!:sunshine: I know how addictining it is.
Hope you have power back today!!!

THANKS you guys!! I just got back from over there and still no power! Yes, it went from an area of disturbance, to a T.D., to a hurricane in 14 hours! It hit as a catagory 1, only a couple of miles per hour away from being a catagory 2. I am SO hopin to have power back on tonight. Usually when we know there is a storm coming Entergy will have back up forces on stand by, so they can start restoring power as soon as the storm is over. They had no back ups lined up because no one knew it would turn into a hurricane. Anyway, I really appreciate all the well wishes! I am still keeping my fingers crossed it is back soon!

sending many good thoughts your way for your power to get back on very, very soon! but look on the bright side, you all are safe and sound. i would have been scared to death to have a tornado hit that close.
we were suppose to get a major hurricane (they were calling for a cat 5) in our area about 4 yrs ago. so i packed up my daughter and our boys and left a day ahead for disney world. we stayed there for a couple days. when we got back home, hubby said a leaf blew out of the tree, and it was over. but the areas 1/2 and more south of us got slammed really bad.
you just can't predict mother nature.

I hope they get your power back to you soon. I know how awful it is to go with out power. We have been there and done that. It stinks. Glad you guys are ok and safe!!
