Ok, it's like September didn't even happen in my world! WOW! I'm glad that October is here & I'm going to get back on the excercise track!

Let's see, what should my goal be....I'm going to say eliptical 3 times a week. Let's see if I can do it!! :0)

Good luck everyone!!

I did not do so well in September. Had some stomach issues, which I think are...or at least hope...better.

So, I will go 4 times a week. 20 minutes each time. I bumped it down from the last time. Trying to be a bit more realistic. Hopefully I will do more, but this will be my goal!

Well, I can't swim any more :( the water is too cold! So I will stick to the walking but I will drop it down to 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes!
Good luck everyone!

"Slim in 6" workout dvds - I'm working on the 2nd part of the plan - "ramp it up". 6 days each week - about 40min each day.

I was so pathetic last month -- only 7/12. I'm going for 12 again this month.

I'm going with 20-30 minutes of cardio, 4-5 times a week.

I LOVE Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. They are awesome, easy and effective. Makes working out pleasant and not so much a chore or too hard.

I am easily able to do these 4 times a week, if not 5, but sometimes I count an outside walk as my cardio instead.

I love the Walk Away the Pounds videos too. There are quick and usually offer a one, two or three mile walk. It's nice when you can grab one when you can't get outside or to the gym.

No idea! I'm hoping its just people are busy and didn't give up or just did it to get the SR prize. :( We'll keep plugging along and maybe people will join back up. I lost my internet at home until next Thurs so I only have it at work. I will try to get on "jessica"'s connection this weekend and update our stats. :sunshine:

It is driving Mike nuts because he's into security and secure connections and I'm not :o too concerned over it so I'm just sharing with "Jessica" and he's going to just suffer until Thursday when AT&T switches me over to my new service. I was just upset because I was told it would all be cut off and switched and turned over on the same day not a week between!

Nope, didn't give up or do it just for the SR prize! I'm hear & I have good intentions, this week just FLEW past me though. This weekend won't be much better, but I do anticipate a good walk tomorrow...so that's better than nothing!

I WILL have updates for the thread next week I PROMISE ALL OF YOU MY SR WORKOUT FRIENDS!!

This happened to us but with phone service. I did the VOIP thru our cable company and thought that it would be really quick. NOPE-it took them almost 3 weeks to get someone out to my house to just hook-up a new modem and cord. I was livid. I was missing work calls, and running my cell phone bill up. Not to mention I had one very unhappy teenager :rotfl:

Well I'm at 4/12 this month! I made it every day over the weekend even if it was only for an hour. I skipped yesterday because Monday is a zoo at the gym and I don't want to fight over machine usage because it was a "leg" day for me and everyone wants to do legs on Monday. I'll go in today and make it 5/12 in the month. :)

How is everyone else doing?

My goal for Ocyober is the same - 3 days a week, and hour each time.

So far I've got it done, plus on Saturday (10/6) I worked out for a 4th time BEFORE doing my CPR class there (did you know they are 4 hours, now?).

And I've already been once this week, and have done an extra 30 minutes on my FastTrak that someone gave me.

I'm shooting for 4 days a week this month.
We were in WDW last week and walked a TON!! DH is training for a marathon and I got him a nice pedometer (through Drugstore.com on SR :cooldance: ) for his bday. So, we took it along and in 8 days, we walked 79.81 miles. That was actually with a really slow day on Tuesday when DS wasn't feeling well and we stayed at the resort and went to DTD that night. So glad we had been walking about 3 miles a day before the trip to be prepared.

m 'n c
10-09-2007, 02:00 PM
Oh wow. 79 miles in 8 days sounds like a lot. I'll have to get a pedometer for next trip to see how far we are actually walking. We did some crazy stuff last trip where we'd walk through MK then decided while in fantasy land to go eat at the Sommerfest CS in Epcot so we'd walk back through MK and then all through Epcot to get back there to eat lunch then we'd decide to go back to MK for the rest of the day. Talk about lots of walking on that day.

I am officially 5/12 this month and I managed to run for 5 minutes tonight. I was feeling like I was about to die at the end of the 5 minutes but I pushed myself to ensure I wouldn't give up. I will try to do another 5 this week and then do 6 minutes next week :)

Well I was able to get 5 in for the week, instead of 4! Running these kids everywhere and with all the holiday work setting in I did not know if I would even make 4.
So how did everyone else do this week???

I got a quickie in on Wednesday but it was a good workout so I'll count it (50 mins not 60). I'm 6/12. I didn't work out last night nor will I get to this weekend but I'll be back on track starting monday.

Bumping up. I went and put in another workout tonight. I think I'm officially 6 or 7 for 12 so I'm halfway there and can definetly still meet it. I was doing really well tonight until I developed this itch up and down my lower body. It was so odd but its something I get every now and then but no idea what causes it. Luckily I was done for the night so I came home and the itchiness is gone.

Well, I have to say I have not done anything this week. All it has done here this week is rain. And now it is cold. WHich is just crazy  But i have gotten in 16 so far this month which I believe is past my goal so I am ok. The funny thing is my little one has been asking everday to go for our walk. So atleast I know I have a little motivator following me around the house!!:rotfl:
Good luck everyone!!

I know the cold over here is killing any desire I have to get into the car and go to the gym. Monday was a really nasty day so I came home and curled up in a blanket on the couch (I do realize its only 50-60 degrees which is warm by some standards ;) ).

I wish I had a little motivator following me around asking to go exercise. The My mom's dog is so good about wanting to go for long walks. I lost a ton of weight in college right after we got him.

Last week was not the best week for me. I got in a couple of days. This week has gone better. I have excersised yesterday and today. I have also done some weight work out this past weekend. We are going to the beach next summer and that is starting to be my motivator. I HATE to wear bathing suits in front of people. I alway wrap up in a towel as soon as I get off my chair. So hopefully by summer, I will have a body that at least looks reasonable in a suit.....Yeah, I would like to be a beach bomb shell, but alas, I am getting too old for that! LOL

Hi everyone! Having the day off, i walked the kids to school today and i felt so great that I realized I need to join you ladies. This time last year I was in the midst of my Slim Fast diet and exercised every day for 3 months - even with a hurt ankle and an ingrown toenail episode. I ended up losing 30 lbs and felt great. Then Christmas came and I must admit that I have been on my elliptical twice since then. Boy does it show! Maybe with you all and my faithful Ipod I can get back on the bandwagon!!

Welcome to the group. I find posting on this thread helps keep me motivated to exercise.

I just got back from my gym and put in a good 30 mins on the weights and 20 mins of cardio including running my first mile in months! Talk about excited and worn out when it was all over. I am on schedule to meet my goal this month!! Woo Hoo!

First day back on the bandwagon and I was able to get in a 15 min with weights and 20 on the elliptical. I forgot how great it feels after I exercise!
1/7 this month!

BTW does anyone get Self mag? They have some really good exercise programs in there. They really helped me get in shape last year, I'll have to pull those old mags out myself!

I subscribed to Self last year and changed to Shape this year. I liked them equally. I felt shape though was a tad more orientated towards diet and exercise whereas self was more overall health.

Well, I'm 4/12 of the month & 3 of those were from last week. I'm clearly not going to hit my 12/12 goal (unless I can manage double workouts each day??). But I'm glad we have this thread to make me accountable of what I am/am not doing!!

Well, last week was a wash. I did not walk once, unless you can count the walk through the Haunted Trails over the weekend!!:rotfl:
I have been sick this week and have not walked at all. I did drag out the weights though and work with them for awhile, but that was rather hard with Katie wanted to do what mommy does!! I may have to do those at night when she is in bed, I am terrified she is going to drop one on her foot.
And the Halloween candy is just killing me. With all the parties and now trick or treating tomorrow, UGH!
Hope everyone had a semi-good month. I will need to get back on track for November especially with the holidays getting closer!!

Well I didn't make it at all over the weekend but I did manage to make it for 20 minutes last night so I'll take it. We are in the middle of 3rd quarter at work and I've had to work a little later than normal and we have 2 newbies driving me up the wall so I've been mentally drained by the time I get home that I just want to veg and go to bed.

I was excited - I did a 12 min mile (shaved 30 sec off) and only stopped after 6 mins for water and then at 8 minutes because my new shoes were rubbing blisters and I had to adjust my socks so I could finish. As soon as my feet heal I'll be trying another 12 min mile run/jog.
