:) go cubs:)
I'm pulling for a Sox/Cubs series, myself.
Playoffs are:
American:
Red Sox/Angels
Yankees/Indians
National:
Cubs/Diamondbacks
Rockies/Phillies
Jilly-if the Indians beat the Yankees, then they're the other team I root for ;)

We are. :) I'm a Dbacks fan and DH is a Yankees fan.
I'd love to see them in another World Series. I used to work for the Dbacks in '01 and we got to see games 1 & 7 of the world series that year between the Yanks & Dbacks. You know I was rubbing the Dbacks win in my DH's face. :rotfl:

I think I like you Mandi :)
Jill, I really haven't been following Trot Nixon this year...how's he doing? He is one of my all time favorite Red Sox players  That's the only reason I want the Indians to beat the Yankees (that's my story and I'm sticking to it :rotfl: ).

Aww, thanks. :)
You should have been there. It was amazing. It was right after 9/11 so things were really patriotic. On both games, the had the national guard (IIRC) bring out a flag almost the size of the whole field. The Blue Angels did fly bys and all kinds of other stuff. It was really moving.
Games 1&7 were home games for the Dbacks and my DH struts in wearing a Yankees hat. Of course everyone immediately starts giving us a hard time. It wasn't until they saw his shirt in honor of the fallen firefighters of FDNY that they cut him some slack. DH is a firefighter too so I guess that in combination with the events of 9/11 made it ok for him to support the Yankees.
Anyway, I would love to see the Dbacks go all the way again. But I will admit that as long as it's not the Yanks, I'll be happy. :rotfl:

Did you get a WS ring because you worked for the D'backs that year?
I wouldn't mind seeing a D'backs/Red Sox WS as long as we win ;)

Another Red Sox fan here!
I may live in Orlando now, but I was born right outside of Salem, MA. So I am definitely all about the SOX! My husband, who was born in Florida, has adopted Boston as his 2nd hometown and loves all the Boston teams too, and so have many of our friends, so it's fun when stuff like this happens and we can all root for the Sox together! We saw them beat the Devil Rays at Tropicana Field at the end of this past July. Sooooooo much fun!

Another member of Red Sox nation living in the diaspora. :)
Grew up in JP where my folks still live... DD and I get back for at least a couple of games every year. Went to my first one in 1959 with my Dad, saw Ted Williams play for the first time and never stopped going. The highlight for me was being at Game 6 of the '67 series and seeing the Sox beat St. Louis 8-4. Yaz, Tony C., Rico Petrocelli, Jim Lonborg... Ah, good times!

I helped out with the third graders today in my DD's class and there was lots of Indian garb being worn. The kids all said the same thing "the Indians are going to win!!!" I said something like "they are going to have to figure out how not to leave men on base" and they looked at me with blank expressions and went back to their chanting! :rotfl: Well, if nothing else, it was fun getting THIS close!!!
Can't sleep...must see end of game.....

UGH!!! I finally gave up last night in the 11th inning when Cleveland got their third run. I couldn't take it anymore! I knew it was over for the SOX when Gagne (sp??) came in to pitch. Oh well....we'll take 'em in Cleveland!!

Believe me when I say no one knows what the heartbreak of losing one like this feels like more than long time Red Sox fans... we have definitely walked a mile and more in your mocassins, if you'll pardon the expression.
The Indians are a terrific team with oodles of incredibly talented players and I expect they will be in the thick of it for years to come.. it sure made for some very exciting baseball in this series!
