I know this is WW but I didn't know exactly where to ask this, has anyone here done the optifast program, if you have could you give me some honest pros and cons and how you handled starting it... scary, I know its safe but it is still a little of the unknown....:sunshine2:

No problem with asking about other diets. I have never heard about that one. I'll have to google it to see what its about.

Ok I only read like 2 pages on the website. Here are my thoughts:
good- they prepackage all your food and portion it out which means no thinking on your part on what to eat and worrying about if you are over eating or not.
bad- what are the food choices? Are they things you'd eat? how limiting is the food choices? does it taste well? how pricey will this become?
I didn't like this "pro" from the website:
Freedom from having to make food choices
Umm to me the biggest part about making a lifestyle change is teaching yourself how to make good food choices. Not learning to make choices is not going to help when you get off the program.

They do help you make choices of food when you go back to eating, you are very monitored by Drs. and others for the program, I know all of that, I just was kinda hoping someone had done the program, thank you for the help I appriciated it....:sunshine2:

Thank you for the link, alot of good information in it... This program is not for everyone, it is covered by most insurance, and it is not gonna be easy !!!
And boy do you have the Dr. and the nurses and experts and thats not to even mention the testing !!! Your beyond monitored.... Thanks again for the help.... this is scary to say the least but if it works that is all that matters...:sunshine2:

Well the monitoring by Doctors sounds better and the helping you with choices is good too. The way they make the opening parts of their webpage does not include that information which would make one raise an eyebrow at the diet.
