This is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. Waking up to the smell of the turkey. The entire house is filled with the aroma. Tomorrow, the only thing left to do is make the mashed and sweet potatoes and biscuits and throw the veggies in the microwave. Not bad...the rest of the family is bringing the other stuff. My olives are rolled and in the frig and the extra stuffing is in a casserole bowl for baking tomorrow....sigh....time to finsh that bottle of chardonnay I started today.

Hey Cindy,
Have you ever tried Sweet Potato Casserole made with bourbon? I tried it last year and it was out of this world! I'm going to make it tomorrow and I was supposed to stop at the liquor store to buy some bourbon today (I only need 1/2 cup.... for the recipe anyway) and I totally forgot. I had to run into town just now to the local bar and thank the giblets they gave me some free of charge. They said it was to a good cause.
Now all the people there want me to bring them in some!!:rotfl:
P.S. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

No, never tried it. I love sweet potatoes, baked only. I use to make a sweet potatoe casserole with the brown sugar and pecans and all that, but I never ate it, so I quit making it. LOL But, enjoy yours with bourbon, I'm sure that would help make it better even for me. Happy Thanksgiving.

I think my recipe is similar: pecans, brown sugar, and mini marshmallows on top. I think if you added the bourbon to your recipe you just might like it.
We are deep frying a couple turkeys tomorrow. Can't wait!
