Anyone own the nintendo wii?

hello guys,
i finally scored a nintendo wii this morning for my kids.Okay so i know nothing about this thing lol.
1.Do your kids enjoy this game system,if so what are their ages?
2.Should i purchase a nunchuck?
3.What game is a must have for a 14 year old boy & 11 year old girl?


thanks any advice would be great.i am totally clue less on this unit but it looks fun to play.LOL

Dniece13 adores hers (as do her parents). She's a fan of the sports pack, and the Sims games (check the ratings, though).

My kids love this game! My mom has one, and they love to compete against Grammy. She got them one for Christmas (won't they be excited!). Their favorites are Bowling and Marble Mania. I highly recommend wearing the safety strap around your arm. Man does that control fly if you let go of it! LOL. :D

Ya'll make me feel guilty for not getting my girls one. But, they already have a gamecube, 2 Nintendo DS's (we have bought 3, first one was stepped on within 3 wks) and their own computers (hand me downs, from me). I hate to spend that much money for one item that then needs more stuff.

BTW, go to OVerstock and look up gamecube memory, they have the 128mb on sale for $9.99. GREAT deal!! Plus, if you haven't used the 10% and free shipping coupon, already, you can use it. Bummer, I got so excited I used mine before looking for anything past the memory cards. But, still saved $40 off 2.

We've had one since last year and our entire family loves it!
I even enjoy playing and I am NOT a gamer.

My DD (5) and DS (11) love the Wii Sports that came with the console.
You need the nunchuck for some of those games. I also Highly recommend grabbing an extra remote and nunchuk if you come across them. It's way more fun playing with a group.

My DH and DS are playing Mario Galaxy right now, and it's an awesome game.
MY personal favorite is the Rayman:Raving Rabbits. It's full of all these ridiculous mini games and the story line is too funny. It's a lot of fun.

We didn't much like Excite Truck, it's difficult to control the vehicles. The Cooking school one is also fun to play with a group. Very silly.

I can't think of too much more, but you can always rent the games from blockbuster or something to try them to see if you like them. Sometimes a game that looks perfect for an age group turns out to be a little tough.

You won't regret buying a Wii.

the description on amazon says it comes with 2 remotes plus 2 nunchucks but you know how amazon can be with their item descriptions.LOL
It is supposed to be delivered the 28th so i may just open it when it comes in to make sure we have 2 remotes & not just 1.
I got mario galaxy today as well,the reviews were great plus free shipping & no taxes from amazon.
I am so excited about getting this system.Plus when we play on a home system we all get involved so its good family time.My DD has a DS but she plays that in her room by herself.So this will get us all together for some good old fashioned fun!!

My son is 14 also and on Thanksgiving we brought the WII to my cousins house and her kids are 20 and up and they all had a great time playing it.

thanks for the heads up on the mario at the olympics.I will pick this up as well for a stocking stuffer.So i guess we will start with mario galaxy & mario at the olympic.lol

thanks for all your help,we are new to this system but my kids have been wanting one forever.Also i think the gamecube games will play on this machine as well.Has anyone done this yet?

i just saw mario smash brothers for pre order on amazon i think i may get it now cause my daughters birthday is in March,this will be her present.:)

Game Cube games do play on WII. Some places are having a pre order for Super Smash brothers brawl :cooldance:

i did a pre order from amazon on the smash brothers brawl.It is being released in February so my daughters birthday is in March so this will be her present.
It looks like a fun family game that we all will enjoy.It has a lot of the oldies but goodies characters in it.
