I really hope they start showing this every year. Classic Shrek! Kids loved it and it still had enough "adult" references in it to be funny for us! Gingerbread and Pinnochio just crack me up!!

The part about it not being Christmas until someone cries totally cracked me up!!!

I thought it was cute and the kids liked it. Definitely not as good (IMO) as The Grinch or Rudolph, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again. :)

Totally agree with you there. Nothing can be better than the classics!! BTW, if anyone watched the Grinch tonight, did they redo it? Something seemed off about all the bright colors at the end. Or maybe it's just me that's off!

Yes! The Grinch that Stole Christmas is my ABSOLUTE favorite. We actually watched some of that last night. It was on Family ABC, I think.
Of course, I do like Polar Express. Even my 13 year old (well, 13 on Dec. 1) said "that movie makes you WANT to believe."

We missed it here too! I had to tutor last night and didn't get home until 9 (I even missed my bookclub meeting!!!)
Looking forward to the re-airing on the 11th!
Angela.....gotta love The Polar Express!! A few years ago I brought all of my cousins kids to the local IMAX theater to see it in 3-D (ages ranged from 19 to 5) They loved it!! (I personally don't like 3-D, but it still was good!) I still believe!!!!!!

The 3-D Polar Express is AWESOME! We saw it in Cincy 2 years in a row at the IMAX. I think they play it every year there. It was like $10 for kids and $12 per adults. It was worth EVERY penny. I love seeing Bethany trying to grab the snowflakes and my boys pretending to grab the ticket. VERY cool!

The kids loved the Shrek ones last night, just seemed like it had a lot of commercials!! It seemed pretty short but it was funny and cute :)
Ok, am I the only person that doesn't like the Polar Express? It didn't really hold my kids interest either and it's pretty dark in a lot of parts........
In my opinion NOTHING will ever beat my favorite....A Christmas Story
I also love "Twas the Night Before Christmas" with the little mice and the big clock that plays music for Santa......does anyone else remember that one??

We're not PE fans either. My kids have it (gift) and never ask to watch it.
A Christmas Story is my all time favorite. I watch that at least a dozen times this time of year. :)
I definitely remember that one! Another great classic!

I'm glad to see that I'm not alone!
We watch Christmas Story over and over too, the boys just love it....well, we all just love it! We love it so much that we even get duck from the Chinese restaurant for Christmas dinner!! :rotfl: My parents think we're crazy!
I was so excited a few years ago on my birthday my mom surprised me with Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Mouse on the Mayflower, I didn't even know that you could still get either of those, but she searched until she found them for me  My boys love both now too!

That is too funny! We would have Chinese Duck on Christmas if we didn't have family over. Or, maybe we'll do it anyway this year!
We do have a plastic garden squirrel that resides in the branches of our Christmas tree ala Christmas Vacation. It even gets packed with the Christmas decorations.

Our Christmas day is so busy with church, presents, going to my parents for presents, etc that it is actually really nice to end the day with just going home and having Chinese. By that point we are all pretty much burnt out on turkey, ham, potatoes, etc anyway. :)
That is so cute about the squirrel, now all you need is Cousin Eddie to complete the scene! I may have a relative or two that fits that profile if you need someone!! :rotfl:

A Christmas Story is awesome!! I love the channel that does the 24 hr marathon this time of year. We've got a cute photo of DS when he was around 4 imitating the little brother sticking his face in his food at dinner. Also a few years ago all of my DH's siblings went in together and bought their dad a replica of the famous lamp. He absolutely loved it!!
And who out there doesn't have a little bit of Griswold in them? When we bought the DVD a few years ago it came with an ornament and our tree wouldn't be the same without it!!
We too love the Christmas story!
We have a smaller version of the leg lamp. My hubby will proudly display it once we get our Christmas things out. Always a conversation piece.:sunshine:

I guess it depends if you have company for Christmas dinner!! :rotfl: My kids don't think it's strange b/c it's a tradition that we do together (just the 6 of us) my parents on the other hand think it's ridiculous.......and every year they give me grief over it :p
That leg lamp is widely available this year, a lot of places are selling it. This has to be the best though:

:rotfl: Even my DH and I couldn't justify that one!!

My son is 3 and loves Polar Express. He actually watches it year round at least once a week. I like it too but am looking forward to when it is a once a year movie. :) We are going to take a REAL train ride in Mt. Hood where they do a polar express theme. I am WAY excited to do this. The kids even get to go in their pjs and we get hot cocoa. Just a few more weeks until that.
I happen to like the classics, white christmas and holiday inn.

I don't think the neighbors would be too amused :rotfl: IMO it's better than the Santa's on harleys!! :p
I also LOVE White Christmas!! We watch that several times in December too (surprisingly the boys love that one too!)
