I'll post a detailed trip report when I get home to my own keyboard...
but I wanted to let people who might be here now know... Epcot's spaceship earth is sorta open... I think they call it a soft opening. Check for a door in the construction wall... if it is open with a cast member there...go and ask if you can get in...there are multiple doors in the construction area...walk all the way around.

If the ride itself isn't open then go in the back door and experience the games in the exit area. the back door is outside the construction wall.

We spent our first day at Nasa... My husband and I are space nuts, and just went over to see all the exhibits... the kids were a little bored by most of it... but liked the shuttle simulator ride (tame ride despite all the warnings) and the other simulator rides. and we all liked seeing the super secret rocket launch (not shuttle).
We then went to check in... we like staying in the fort wilderness cabins, as it sleeps our family of 4 plus my father. We then head over to rainforest cafe for dinner (the one in downtown disney). We had good bus karma, and were soon there... but we had to wait a long time... the place is huge...but the wait was still long. We got a bad seat and couldn't see much of anything, but the birthday girl still had fun.

Back to the cabin to crash!
