I am quite excited... I got a call with a pre-interview, interview... for a job I applied for.
I am currently a SAHM, my youngest is going to kindergarten next year :(
So, I am back into the working world. I have obtained two degrees, while being home with my children, but never worked in the professional working world.
I applied for two jobs, both within the school district, so I will be home with them after school and summers, the one that I was called about is the higher paying of the two, and the most enjoyable, I think. So, I am quite excited about this. I was told I would hear back again soon, about an interview next week. I'm not great at interviews.. but, I will go in with confidence, knowing I am the BEST person for this job.
That's it.. just excited. My kids don't care.. had to share with someone. :cooldance:

Congratulations! I just got my first "real" job last year, and I'm 39. I have either stayed at home, worked for my dad, gone to school, worked at the grocery store, or some combination of those until last year. I hadn't had a professional job until now and it was agonizing for me going through the interview process. Good luck to you, remain calm and think happy thoughts.

Congratulations! 2 months ago I re-entered the work force after being a SAHM for 13 years. It was kind of scary at first but I'm really happy and enjoying my job. :)

My youngest is going into pre-K next year and right now I am juggling 2 part time jobs on the weekends and around DH's schedule. Next year I may be in your same position!

I haven't heard anything yet.
My DH forgot to pay the phone bill... so our phone was shut off for about 12 hours (due to business hours and such :computer: ).. but, I ran to the phone company first thing that next morning... Hopefully they didn't try to call.
I will probably call tomorrow, just to make sure. Let them know I'm still interested.

The job that I was excited about a couple weeks ago.. I was never even called back for an interview. I was not qualified 100% for that job, so it's not a shocker, but I will still blame my DH, for not paying the phone bill. :rotfl:
However, TODAY, the second job I applied for (I applied for two at once) called, and now I have an interview on Thursday!
Oh my. I haven't done an interview for 3 years.
I get so nervous, but I am VERY qualifed for this job. A bit too qualifed. It is a librarian aide at the elementary school. Hours will work great for the kids.
ok. possitive thoughts!
must get this job!!!

It went pretty good. I'm feeling good about it. There was lots of laughter, and we all hung around for about a half hour after the interview just talking. One of the interviewers said "I look forward to getting to know you better.". that's got to be a good sign!
I find out before we leave on vacation, if I get the job. *fingers crossed*

Oooh that sounds great. My bf just interviewed and got a new job and he knew he was doing well when they started laughing and just talking rather than the formal interview. He actually got a response 5 minutes after his thank you email to call the hr people and found out they were basically waiting on 1 other partner to sign off on his hiring.
My fingers are crossed. Laughing and talking that long is a pretty good sign.

I haven't heard anything yet. I'm suppose to hear from them some time this week.. but we're leaving on vacation one day earlier than I planned. I am getting nervous, just waiting for the call!

Do you have a contact person there you could call?? Maybe just give them a call and tell them you are interested in the job but are leaving to go out of town. That would help, maybe. I am not very good at the job interview thing, that is why I work for myself! Good luck and I hope you get the job.

I am keeping the pixie dust and wishes going for you! I've been full-time job searching myself, with not too much luck, unfortunately!
