Chat night for people interested in Blogging

I think our Chattywomen post has gotten too long for newbies to read and see if they are interested in blogging. While we are going to do a FAQ thread to summarize the important things we just haven't gotten around to it yet.

So with that said would a chat night be helpful? We could do it on a night other than Friday or Sunday so that we wouldn't interfere with the other chats going on. Which day would work best for everyone? We could do it more than once if there is an interest in it.

I'm game. Most weeks I could do any week night, but this week I can do tonight, maybe tomorrow (Tuesday) and for sure again Wednesday. I'd prefer after 7/7:30 so that I can cook, help with homework, etc.

Yeah my weeknights are hard to figure out too. I'll look for people on tonight and have an informal chat after I get home from the gym but how does like Wed or Thurs of this week or Mon/Tues of next week sound to have an official one?

I'm in, I was bugging Cindy and Tricia with a ton of ?'s in Friday nights chat. And your right I was trying to read through the thread and wow, it's a lot!

That said Monday's work well, for me though I can't get on until the kiddo's are in bed, and I don't want to have to have anyone repeat themselves. 8-830 EST will be when I try and check in.

How did chat go last night? I didn't get home until 10pm CDT so I didn't bother logging in. Tomorrow night after 9pm should work for me too. I only have class until 700. DH is home though & sometimes he puts a damper on my SR fun time...rude. :p

Yes if you want to participate you have to fill out a TT. Put in exactly what she requests in that first post in the other chatty women thread (chatty women ready for business). With everything going on right now though she may not answer it till next week (Daisy and Scatman).

I think since everyone has different days which work for them I'll just try to go into the chat room a few times a week around 8/9pm CST depending on when I get home from the gym and I'll chat with anyone about anything.

I've just added a new blog called The Chatter. Everyone who is new will be given access to post in The Chatter. Right now Catherine and Angie and I can create users in there. I'll add Cindy, Hedy, and Janet if they want to be able to add users as well. Here is the login page for it:

New people will be given a username and password to start blogging there. Get your feet wet learning how to blog in general. Also be a good citizen and leave comments on others' posts at Chatty Women and She Needs to Know. :) If the Chatty Women feel like you are ready, then we will create your own blog for you and then you can learn the REALLY complext stuff like revver, widgets, etc.

The chattywomen will be putting together a "list" of sorts on things you need to do to get a blog up and running besides just posting. That way everyone can see the time involvement of this. If you have questions just ask us. We can start a "The Chatter" thread for everyone just starting out.

One thing to note though is that since so many people will be writing under this one blog for the time being try to put at the bottom of your posts a pen name so that we can see who is writing what.

If you want to be set up either do your TT or send me a pm if you haven't done one yet and I can add you as a writer for now.

I think Tricia needs to add it to the blog roll but if you go to www.chattywomen.com you will see a post about Its Blogging Time by Angela's Events. Angela's Events is the name of her blog.

I did find it, but not sure exactly how I did. Will Angela's Events have a "link" type item like your Pink Ritas & Lipgloss does??

I remember that the original TT request from Tricia said that she needed a title & content info, but I swear the other day she said she didn't need that info...I told her anyway, but now I don't like my title! :0) It's been all of 20 min since I sent the TT too! DangitJenny!! Oh well.

Also, I used my hotmail account as I didn't know what all would be going through & didn't want to use my work account. What is the email used for? Could i change it (or my title for that matter) later?

Jen - the email is just so that there is an email assigned to your user name. I don't think you need to worry about a title until you blog for a few weeks on the chatter site and tricia deems you ok to have your own. :)

Ok so catherine the PM I sent you last week about getting set up, all's I need to do is open a TT with email and Title to get Tricia to get us started on the Chatter? I actually have written a few things saved in a word document this week. I just haven't had time to do anything else with them yet.

Yeah. I can't get it figured out how to set people up. :( Definitely shoot a TT over to Tricia with a username, email address, and password and she can get you going with the Chatter. When you are ready for your own blog you can respond with a title on what you want to call it.
