OK, I really don't like Richard SImmons, but I've seen a comercial that the original Sweatin to the Oldies will finally be released on DVD. As much as I don't like him, I think it's an exercise video I could actually get into. The only 1 I've done so far is Billy Blanks Bootcamp (great workout, but a little TOO challenging for a beginner, even on the beginner level) I've always felt like dancing is a good workout, and I like the songs in "STTO" should I get it? And if I do want to get it, does anyone know of an SR merchant I can get it through? Thanks for your help. I used to be a runner, and now I'm just trying to find a fun way to get back into working out, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm still waiting on Jen's review of the new Firm. Not sure if I could handle Richard and STTO

That's what I'm thinking Catherine, that's why I had to ask. Guess we'll wait and see.

I like STTO, Lisa. It's a great workout to fun music and perfect for a beginner. I have to pull mine out -- I did that when I was on maternity leave after getting clearance to work out again from my Dr.

I loved STTO. I'm not a huge fan of RS either, but the workouts on all 4 STTO are really great and parts can be challenging. The music is lots of fun and the workout goes by fast. I do have all 4 tapes but since joining a gym 6 years ago haven't used them in ages. I liked that I could do them at home.

Aggh! I'm sorry, I've been really bad & busy w/the house painting , but I did try to start it twice & neither time could I finish...not because it's hard, from what I've seen it looks like something I'm really going to enjoy...but because one day I went downstairs to FINALLY do it. I was all set. I had an hour, I WAS going to do it! But the DVD player didn't work. So I brought it upstairs & was going to do it, but the first thing I played went straight into a workout (I'm not very paitent, didn't want to play the "moves" video) & they said ok you need heavy weights & light weights...well then I had to stop the DVD & get the weights ready. Well they don't tell you what's considered heavy or light (unless it's on the moves DVD:p) so I'm trying to get the weights ready when the last weight I'm putting together is stuck. So stuck. I couldn't get it to move for anything. (Took DH to put it in a vice out in the garage to get it unstuck!?) Next thing I know, my hour is gone & I still didnt' do the dang video!
So...I bought a new DVD player for the basement & made sure it worked by doing Yoga Booty Ballet last night. I haven't done YBB in a long time, so I think I'm going to try to incorprate both videos into some sort of a rotuine for me.
On a side note, I'm finding I'm really resenting the fact that DH can 1) work out while at work & 2) doesn't work out at home, because it's really hard to do yoga when Howie shows his cute face in between your legs when you're doing downward dog (I think it was downward dog), or he sits on your lap when you're trying to do some stretches. It WAS cute, but frustrating. So I need to kennel him otherwise I won't get any exercise done!
So while I am painting again this weekend & tonight I HAVE to get the two rooms cleared out, I AM going to do The Firm w/my new DVD player, in the basement, while Howie is in his kennel! I swear it!! Watch, I won't be on chat tonight!! :( and I will report back to how it is...finally!
