Hi friends, I am 32 years old and looking for an effective diet plan. I don’t like to do exercise. Who do you think puts the most pressure on people to diet and do you think its right for people to feel so pressured? When choosing a diet what factors do you look at? And what do you think is the most important thing to maintain a healthy lifestyle? Thanks a lot for any suggestion.

Not sure what you are looking for but personally I stick with Weight Watchers as I don't feel like I'm on a diet. Its easy to measure out portions and stick with their plan. You can also use your points however you choose so if you want a piece of cake you just "budget" for it. Same thing with eating out. Its not restrictive.

Now I will say I've tried WW a few times and the only way I can get the results I want is with diet + exercise. I've tried diet only and exercise only and didn't lose more than 2-3 pounds but mainly stayed at the same weight I was unhappy with. There are many different ways to exercise. You just have to find the one you like doing.

I do my own version of Jenny Craig/Volumetrics. I have lost 25 lbs. since Jan. 5th. The premise is find a combination of 400 calories for Breakfast, 400 calories for lunch, and 500-600 calories for dinner then 3 snacks of 100 calories or less. Portion control is critical so look carefully at packages to make sure you are only eating one serving of find recipes that state what a serving size is. And the most critical thing is drink at least 6-8 glasses of water that is 8 oz. or more. I have posted all my recipes for dinners on a thread called 7 weeks of menus or something like that in the Healthy Living section. What we do is make enough for dinner to eat the same thing the next day for lunch. A typical breakfast for me is a slice or two of toast with jelly and a banana, and 8 oz. milk. On weekends we take an English Muffin, put fry and egg, 1/2 slice of FF cheese, and 2 slices of Canadian bacon and make a sandwich.

Like Weight Watchers you can budget in anything you want you just have to figure out the calories the best you can and make modifications in the other areas that day. I have looked at Weight Watchers several times but don't get the point system or how to figure out the points in things so I am more comfortable eyeballing the calories to come to about 1400-1800 a day.

I have been consistently losing 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. per week which is the recommended rate to lose.
