Inspired by my JetBlue post, who's your favorite airline (or why don't you have one)?

We usually fly Airtran or AA when we go to WDW. If I had to choose, I would pick Airtran as we have never had any major issues with them and the rates are usually cheaper. We've had "issues" on both, but nothing that would prevent me from flying with them again. We've gone back and forth between AA and Airtran depending on the rates, but I actually prefer Airtran.

I just wish we could get those awesome Airtran rates some get for $39 each way! For our trip early May, we got $69 so not too bad.

In 2004, we flew Delta to DL and it was a completely miserable flight. It was the one day of the year that it snowed in TX and it REALLY snowed. We sat on the tarmac for 2 1/2 hours in line to de-ice. They ran out of food and water as well. That was not fun...much less so because I was pregnant at the time! There were some other issues on that flight but we finally made it. I don't think we have flown Delta since then lol.

I voted for Delta, and that probably seems a strange choice to some of you. However, I have a Delta Skymiles credit card that I put most of my purchases on. They add up fast. I've had two free flights from CT to California, returning from Vancouver last May, and one free flight R/T Fort Lauderdale in January. All I can say is that those flights were 100% better than my American flights to San Juan and back in early March.

Southwest also does a nice job for the price. JetBlue and AirTran does not fly out of Hartford, CT, so I can't compare.

I agree- Midwest is our favorite also! We love the comfy seats, the service and of course the chocolate chip cookies! We have not used many other airlines- only United (hated it) and Northwest (just ok)- but then we discovered midwest and have flown them ever since. We used them our last four trips and will be using them again in August.

I voted Delta too but only because it is the only airline that has direct flights to Orlando and participates in the luggage checkin what ever it's called? Just being able to checkin our luggage the last day and not worry about it until we arrive home is worth it to us. Hopefully with Delta's new buyout, things won't change too much? Tried Southwest once....never again! :)

I voted for Southwest they fly direct to both Orlando and Baltimore where my brothers live. Have never had a problem with Southwest.

I voted for Allegiant. They have the best prices for me and they fly out of local airports. The downside is they fly into Sanford and rental cars are more there than MCO.

I fly continental for work (LOVE them) and Southwest for Disney trips (also LOVE them). I avoid Northwest and American at all costs.

I  Southwest Airlines. Low fares, friendliest employees/flight attendants around, never had a lost bag, and I have only had one flight in the 25-something flights I've done with them, be more than an hour late.

My first choice would be SW (although I hate you can't chose seats). I've never had any issue with them. Second would be Delta. I've always had good luck with them (knock on wood! :) )

I can't stand AA. Unfortunately they are one of the only airlines that travel into my parent's town (Evansville, Indiana) so I have to fly them a few times a year. I've had so many flight cancellations, delays, lost bags, etc. with them over the last 11 years that I've been in AZ that I've lost count. I'm taking my daughters with me to Evansville next month and I'm already dreading it. :(

Well I have to say United. I don't know if they would be my number one choice
if I had more options... like Jet Blue, Southwest, or Airtran. I have flown United
since 1990 and have never had a bad experience. A couple of small delays,
but I was well compensated for the delays. Never any lost luggage.

DH is reading over my shoulder and he says he votes for Jet Blue. He got to fly
them once - and said they were the absolute best.

British Airways was the BEST airline that I've ever flown on so I'll give them my vote. The comfort, service and amenities were better than any domestic carrier, hands down.

I really like AirTran - never have had a bump, major delay or lost luggage and have always had prices competitive with Southwest. Southwest is a close second because of their prices but I like having my seat...especially on a flight to MCO and they allow pre-boarding with kids up to an older than normal age and half the plane gets on. :rotfl:

Don't really have a favorite, we generally fly Northwest.

The airline I hate is Spirit. They always change flight times (the last time we flew them it was changed from a red eye to 1:00 the following afternoon - thereby taking away an entire day of our trip. I ended up having to get tickets with Northwest and taking a credit with Spirit). This time they change our return flight from morning to afternoon.

I am currently completely aggravated with them because I am now on hold with them for the THIRD time today. The first call I spent 70 minutes on hold only to hear it ring like someone was going to answer and then NOTHING - dead air. Called back, was on hold 45 minutes, someone finally answered and then my phone started saying LOW BATTERY and of course they won't call you back because your phone goes out and of course I wasn't finished when my phone went out. So now try #3. GRRR.
We fly out tomorrow night and I'm not even close to being ready and now I'm wasting my entire day on the phone. Only have an hour before I have to leave to pick up kids from school. Someone better answer before then.

Southwest is also one of my favs. Ive done alot of traveling and sometimes AA is cheaper for me to go home to Nic tru Miami. I hate Miami airport.... Ive also flown many other airlines like United, Taca, Iberia, Sprit, Jet Blue, NW and seems CO has treated me great. I love Spirit (yes I think I am the sole person in America).

Why? ACY is 30 minutes from my home. In 12 years I've never had a cancelled, late or changed flight, and I've never paid over $100 for a r/t flight except one time, which was a short notice flight.

Of course now I just shot myself in the foot and jinxed myself, my next trip flight will cost more than my room probably
