I am going to Disneyworld/cruise in Oct and need a car for 3 days and I am getting hammered with the prices.
I am using codes found on mousesavers but still paying 100+ per day (suv)
Does anyone have codes, websights, ideas for saving money?
Have you tried pickup at an offairport location? Hotwire?

What company are you looking at? National is always my favorite but I used their sister-company Alamo this week. If you give me your dates and needs I will be happy to pla with the numbers. It is all a game with them...book one, find another code, book another, cancel the first etc.

I would wait till you get closer, right now alot of the deals are till June, so I would wait until those are done, then they should come out with new ones.

Book one now just to have it and then do it again as time goes on. SUVs go fast...as do minivans.

www.flyertalk.com forums are a GREAT place to check for rental codes. Good luck finding a great price.

I would definitely keep checking back often. Sometimes they have daily specials with all of the rental car companies. I would definitely try Dollar. They have the best payout through SR as well! Good luck! I'll keep an eye out as well.:)

I agree that you should keep the rental you have and just keep readjusting as new codes come out. That way you know that you have the vehicle size you want and anything less than what you are 'paying' now will be a bonus.
I does tend to get cheaper when you approach that 2/3 months out from the trip.

I agree w/Janet...it's a game...and I LOVE playing it!! I use National normally, but this past trip I got a better deal on a one day rental through Alamo.
Here's a site I have used just as reference...good luck & have fun!!

I LOVE playing the car rental game too! Well....mainly when I get a good price. I book a vehicle when I first know about my trip, then just keep cancelling and rebooking.
We rented a large SUV during July 4th week last year, for 11 days, and started at $550.00. We ended up getting the SUV for $298 for the 11 days. I thought that was a steal. Look at codes everyday, and play with them every day. Some days a certain code may not work, the next it will. I spend HOURS getting a good rate. It was work, but well worth it.

YUP, even if you spent 10 hours trying to get a better rate, that was $25 an hour that you saved on your rental. :cooldance:
