Hi everyone!

I'm Abby and found out about SR through the DISboards site. I'm going to The World in September with my parents and well, every penny helps, right?

I had tried another site before this one and decided today to make this my only site (I managed $3 over several weeks at the other, not cool! :computer: ) I've been on here for 2 weeks and I'm almost at $50!!!

So, looks like I'm here to stay - this is a lot of fun and I was really surprised how quickly the little things added up (I've only done 2 where I had to sign up with a CC) Hopefully I can pick up some great tips and meet some new people on here :)

and if anyone can help me with how to put the SR banner in my siggy here - I don't think I'm doing it right...

You did it right. You have to have 25 posts for the graphic to show up. The url will stay like that until a little while after you make your 25 posts and then it will change automatically. Welcome to the SR forums. You will certainly make friends and get good advice. They all have memories like elephants though so they do remember the good things you say and the silly things :rotfl: You may even find something silly say immortalized forever in your tag. If you have any questions ask away. Dont forget to check out the arcade at the top also, its addictive but it keeps us hanging around while we wait for offers to post. :sunshine2:

Ok that makes sense about the siggy - I should have thought about that right away because the DIS has a similar rule.

I foolishly didn't realize just how addicting SR would be. I check so many times each day to see if something new credited!

I cashed out for my first $25 gift card through the Blockbuster offer and am SOCLOSE to being up to $25 so I can get an eBags GC to pay for my Baggalini messenger to use at Disney ....

...nice to hear you all have tag fairies too... the DIS one hasn't found me quite yet though!

Welcome aboard!! I also found SR through the dis and earned 75 in GC before our recent trip!!! You may find this sight more addictive than the dis!!:rotfl:
I did anyway!!

yeah it's starting to look that way! :rotfl: it's at least more fiscally productive! I've got just under 3 months to go before we arrive at WDW (first time trip!yay!)

I'm hoping to make enough in GCs to at least pay for the overpriced scrapbooking supplies I'm going to want to buy down there! or at least a t-shirt!

and I'm toying with the idea of making up little gift bags for my parents as a thank you for taking me and all the planning and such, so earning a couple extra gift cards to tuck in those would be nice ... listen to me ramble with big dreams! :rotfl:

I'm a fellow Disboards refugee too :)

How exciting that you are going on your first trip to the World in September!! We are going in September too, big family trip (not the first though).

I saw on the bump thread that you mentioned not missing Goofy's Candy Company, you are so right! We went for the first time during our May trip, OMG SO GOOD!!

The rice krispie treats dipped in chocolate and topped with all kinds of good things, the pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and drizzled with caramel and pecans, the cookies!! I could go on and on

If you're going to be on the DDP, this is the place to spend snack credits! I know that we will be using alot of ours there this fall!

Hope you have a great trip! :sunshine2:

Hi! Yeah, I'm really excited about our trip - and all the pictures of Goofy's look like so much fun (and so tasty!)

We are on the DDP, so I'm sure many a snack credit will be used there ... I feel like my life will be incomplete without a decorated Mickey rice krispie! Hopefully they have white chocolate to dip it into!

When in Sept are you going? We'll be there from the 7th-14th. There's a DIS meet at the Tower of Terror on the 13th at 3pm, so stop by if you're there!

Thanks kimntrent!

It's fun around here :) I found out about SR after we booked and such, but I'm going to try to earn as much as I can before we go and try to share it with my parents - it would be nice if I could surprise them with paying for one of the things that we have planned out of pocket ...

I just can't wait to go!

We aren't going until 9/20, hopefully the weather and the lovebugs will be better by then :)

Yes, they do have white chocolate to dip them in. You can have milk, dark, or white chocolate. I'm a dark chocolate girl myself  The rice krispie treats are especially good, so chewy and soft! I am making myself so hungry just thinking about them!!

Do you guys have all of your table service restaurants picked out? This time we are doing Ohana (dinner and breakfast), WCC, and Yacht Club.

In May we did Le Cellier, Kona, and Spoodles. The DDP is the best!! :)

We are going to either Chef Mickey or 1900 park Fare. Haven't decided yet. But we have reservations for both. We have two princess freaks. But other table service we are going to is Mexico, Kona, Whispering Canyon, Sci Fi.

Kona was very good! The crab cakes, sirloin steak, and torte were all amazing! Hope you have a great trip! :sunshine2:

can't wait for one of those white chocolate dipped krispies!

9/7: Coral Reef for lunch
9/7: Rose & Crown for dinner and IllumiNations

9/8: Hollywood Brown Derby & Fantasmic

9/9: LeCellier for lunch

9/10: Cincerella's Royal Table for breakfast
9/10: Victoria's and Albert's for dinner

9/11: Chefs de France for lunch
9/11: LaNouba followed by dinner at Raglan Road

9/12: Tea at the Grand Floridian
9/12: California Grill for dinner and Wishes

9/13: Crystal Palace for breakfast
9/13: Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch

we went above and beyond, but this is really a once in a lifetime trip for us - so the DDP really allowed us to do a lot more ... so we are! haha I'm so excited about ALL of our ADRs, though I was sad about dropping Narcoosee's but I had to choose between that and SpectroMagic ... bye bye lobster :(

Thanks, I know my parents are really looking forward to Liberty Tree - with all the pictures on the "food porn" thread on the DIS, I can't imagine anything not being good :)

I'm looking forward to this trip like I can't even explain! We've never been able to take a family vacation and my parents were able to find a way to do it this year and my dad is really having a blast planning. He's really treating this as a once in a lifetime trip and doing some special extras to surprise my mom too (they're going to be celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary while down there) including a wishes cruise that she HAS NO IDEA about! haha, I love secrets like that! It's really going to be the best week ever!

I  :mickey: ! (and now I  :sunshine: too!)

It's really fun that there is quite a bit of crossover between here and the DIS.

As a Disney veteran, what is your favorite thing down there to do or see? I love hearing about everyone's favorites!

I'm so excited for you for your trip. I'm such a dork, but that "once in a lifetime" trip thing just makes me so happy and excited for you and your family!! :sunshine:

Our number 1 rule on vacation is that we are there to have a good time and we are going to enjoy it no matter what!! Even if the crowds are bad, servers are cranky, lines long - whatever, at least we are at Disney!

We never miss: dole whips (I don't care what anyone says, these are awesome if you like pineapple!) I loved dole whips before they were cool :rotfl:

Ghiradelli's for sundaes (they just are better than any other sundaes) and Earl of Sandwich (love the Earl's Lemonade, cupcakes, and roast beef sandwiches)

We can't go to Disney without going to Magic Kingdom. And we can't be in MK without doing all of the traditional rides. We won't miss IASW, Dumbo, Peter Pan, POC, and especially not COP. COP is pretty much our favorite ride, we are dorks

For newer rides we love Philharmagic and Buzz. Also, just stopping to take a look around and appreciate the feelings of the different "worlds" is great. The feel of Main Street, Frontier Land, Adventure Land......the sights, the sound, the details.

We always have to eat at Cosmic Rays, it has great choices and a fun atmosphere.

Of course this is the first time that our family (I went with sisters in May) will be on the DDP so we are so looking forward to going to our first character meal and lots of first TS meals.

Anyway, sorry I rambled but maybe you can find some useful info in all of that! :)

so what kind of stuff are you signing up for? I need some tips. Do you have to click on all the offers BEYOND the offers? (they are getting to be pain, making me pick "one of the offers on the next page" in order to continue). I don't understand why all of the offers seem the same, and they all do the same thing making me click click click, fill out more, fill out more, more, more, more...well you get the point. I need some tips, for sure!

oh by the way I'm from DISboards, too!! Any tips anyone can offer for this site would be great! thanks!

well, I pretty much exclusively do the little offers - aka anything that I don't have to use a credit card to sign up for. I also take the time to do the daily survey every day possible - that's helped a ton as well.

I don't know the answer as far as clicking through everything. I know that I do, just because I don't know if I should and I figure safe is better than sorry. When it forces you to pick an offer (the dreaded, you must choose one before moving on) I select things like the home depot newletter, a candy survey or something else relatively harmless. Since it all goes into the junk box for the email I set up specifically for SR, I don't notice the extra emails.

I also make sure that I delete my cookies and temporary files (in your internet options) every couple days and my browsing history every so often as well. Plus, I've got Spybot to catch any nasties that might have attached themselves to my computer in the process.

Poke around on the boards - people have a lot of different tips and systems for what works best for them. I picked up tons of useful ideas when I started wandering around the forum and don't be afraid to ask questions. The people here are awesome and know tons - and Tricia is really great and helpful as well.
