I finally got a page together. I'm sure that it will need updating, but it is a start.

I'm sorry to be so dense, but I want to follow the rules:
1. Can we participate in clickthru, but not use the hotspot with a free blog?
2. Are technorati or digg considered traffic generating sites?
3. I know we cannot have referral links, but should we also cleanse our blogrolls if they have such links?

I'd ask that you not use Clickthru at all not because of the money making aspect (which some people DO make money through it) but because of the heavy amount of non-targeted traffic. We've been getting a HUGE amount of foreign junk traffic from them. So if you pay the $10, I put it toward more server space and you CAN use it.

Technorati and digg are NOT traffic generating services. They are legit search engine optimization techniques. I actually encourage you to digg and stumble upon your posts as much as possible.

Let's talk about the blogrolls. What kind of other referral links do you have in mind? If it is something you would make money off of, it would be out. But there may be other kinds of referral links that I'm not thinking of.

Let's say I have a blogger in my blogroll. She has a link to (non sr rewards program) in her sidebar.

I'll just ask everyone to use discretion. If someone links to a site that is a big list of Get Paid sites, that wouldn't be cool. But if one of your favorite sites happens to have some links on it to affiliate programs or other sites, that's fine.

Just wanted to pipe in and mention the trafficg website Kimberly and I found in the big CW thread. Its similar to clickthru (no junky buttons to put on your site) where you get traffic by surfing sites but they are different in that you can specify USA traffic only so if you want to go the clickthru-type route you might want to give them a try.

trafficg.com You might have signed up already. If you have go into your account and "edit" your blog. At the bottom they have something called targeted traffic and the 2nd drop down is where you pick specific countries (change it from any). I didn't target by category just by country.

After you have practiced blogging for awhile, you may ask to be given your own blog. At that point, you will need a blog name. You will be able to customize this blog with non-paid widgets and Sunshine Rewards referral links.

So yes :) :sunshine2:

I've slacked so bad, I started registrations on digg etc, but I need to get myself back into it. I really want to do this, since baseball is slowing down I'm hoping to have more time to keep going on the Chatter and then get everything else in motion. I'm starting to feel really left out! lol

Just wanted to pull this thread up again since we have some new people with their own blogs (yea!!) and a few people who are in the Chatter thinking about their own blogs.

Things to remember...

Everyone starts in the Chatter. Once you prove that you really intend to keep up your blog, you can have your own free blog. If you then decide that you want to start making money off of your blog (posting paid blogs, amazon links, etc), you will need to Subscribe to CW and that is $10 a month through Paypal.

As for the blogroll on the front of CW, as long as you are actively blogging (like at least twice a month), you'll stay on the main page as a link. But if you are not active, I'm going to have to take you off. We want to make sure that we are directing people to the blogs that are the most active.

Make sure that you subscribe to the Feed so you get an email each day with what the other CW gals are writing. It's a great way to keep up. But also visit each other's blogs regularly (include the www.sheneedstoknow.com ladies) so that you all have good traffic.

And most of all, have fun with it!! Blogging is not only a cool way to make money but just a terrific way to express yourself.

Tricia, I know it says contact you through SR, does that mean file a TT if we want to get set up in the chatter ?

Thanks ! I did now.

I was voted most talkative in high school, so I figure it only makes sense for me to participate in a site called chatty women!

Having seen your personality on your videos I think you will do a great job. Blogging has become one of my favorite things to do. I am not happy when I cant sign on to SR and my blog LOL makes for a very cranky day indeed.

Do you have your own blog yet? I don't think you can add any of the widgets and stuff until you have your own blog.

If you are just trying to put links in to your post then you would go in and type the words you want to be highlighted and to show up, highlight those words, click on the little link looking icon that will say insert link, enter the url you want that set of words to lead to and that is about it. You will see later on that sometimes you are given the anchor text and the url as a code so to enter that you just switch from View to Code (it is a toggle so you click on the view to get to code and vice versus) once in code view you can paste the code in and then switch back over to view and you will see your anchor text with the url attached already. This probably wont happen until you start doing paid posts where they give you what they want your anchor text and link to be.

Anna I just went and checked out your blog. I answered my own question that you do indeed have your own blog LOL. I have to say that I am impressed with your content and use of pictures. You are doing a great job with your posts. They are interesting and the pictures catch your eye and make you want to find out what the article is about. I think you may want to combine some of your categories though. If you have too many people won't use them to check out other posts. Make those general. Maybe Indoor Cooking, Outdoor cooking, Recipes, Shopping. Things like that. The more condensed you make those the better it is. If you want to post the widget code on here for me I will highlight the area that you need for the wordpress widget so that you can make that work. If you are trying to put other types of links in it just depends on the types of links you want in your sidebar. Most of the time if it is an image you can put it in a new text box by moving one up from the bottom and then pasting the image/link code in the box and saving. If it is just a link to a site or blog you like then put it in your blogroll. You should be able to do this by clicking on blogroll at the top of your wordpress dashboard.
