Ok so I am in total awe of the scrapbook pages everyone is posting. So can anyone help me with getting started. I need software from SR merchants for photo editing and building pages. :sunshine:

I also would like to know if it is possible to have them printed on photo paper without printing them yourself and what companies would do that?

avanquest software sells the deluxe scrapbook kits, and you get 10% back. not a bad deal at all.

i do think for you that may be the right place to start.

i print my own pages, but i also have a wide format printer. you can print out your own pages with a normal printer, 8.5x11 i have also done some of those.

i will go find the site where my friend had hers printed and come back and post.

scrapbookpictures.com that is the site my friend got her printed from. she got 10 pages for $26.90. although, she did say they had a sale of 25% off. so i don't know what normal pricing is, or how often they have sales. but that at least is a place to start. not sure if this is a merchant here or not.

I believe my friend got hers printed from Winkflash and they weren't to expensive. You can also find a lot of free digital kits, just not sure if I can post the websites?? You have to have a photoshop type of program to be able to digi scrap. You are going to love it. It is so much fun, My friend even makes her own kits now and she sells them on ebay. You should see some of her disney kits, they are amazing!

I would love to know what software other people use. I know there are more general photo editing software packages out there and then you can purchase digital scrapbooking kits separately, but that's about all I know. That's one of the reasons I chose the software I did.....it already has a lot of kit elements included. I figured it was at least a good way to get started.

I just found this site. It looks promising and not too expensive.
$1.00-$2.50/page depending on the size and type of paper you choose. I think I might try it out.

Oooh! Disney kits on e-Bay???? I have to go check that out!

There are so many cool digital kits out there. Have you looked at A Cherry On Top? It's a SR merchant.

I scrap using Paint Shop Pro. I started out using version 9, but am now using X2. I use Adobe lightroom to edit my pictures. I purchase all of my "kits" through online digital stores. The only one that is a SR merchant is A Cherry on Top. I got started about 3 years ago and and went from paper to fully digital. Then this past month I got started on hybrid scrapping. Part digital/part paper. LOVE it! As soon as I get first project done I will post pictures of it.

As for printing and sizes. I scrap in 8x8 and sometimes 7x5 or 6x4 depending on what Im making. I never really got any of my pages printed until I started making the Shutterfly Photobooks. And I have to say that they are amazing and I love them. I do have some 4x6 layouts printed and have them in frames around the house, and I got those done at Wal Mart. For my hybrid projects, I print those myself.

There are a ton of digital sites out there, Im not sure if Im allowed to post links, so I wont. But a lot of sites have amazing get started tutorials, challenges and free stuff. If linkage is allowed let me know and I will be glad to post.
