In thinking about other ways to help moms make some money online, it came to me that some of you might be interested in my other site (the one that started my whole online business interest!). It's at www.helpingmomsconnect.com.

Here's my thought. I totally neglect Helping Moms because SR takes so much time. But Helping Moms is really respected in the affiliate community and gets a lot of search engine traffic because it has been around a long time, has a lot of archived information, and doesn't have much advertising.

I think that there are some opportunities for a few moms who would like to try their hand at some internet marketing. One perfect example would be the Contest pages. I used to update them all the time with contests and then insert some advertising in here and there to make money off of them. Another opportunity is the Movie and Book review section. You can review movies and books and put links to where they can get the movies and books on Amazon. If anyone makes any purchases through the links, you can make money.

Really there are quite a few possibilities. But take a look around if you have any kind of writing or internet hobbies that you think we might be able to work in over there. Because it is non-incentivized, there are a LOT more offers and signups that you can make money off of. We could do a revenue share kind of thing where we each get a percentage of your "section."

Just throwing it out there. I know some of you might be seeing less "fun" money coming in over the next couple of months. And this might be a good way to make a little bit of it back doing odds and ends work online.

Going to check this out. Thanks Tricia. Just wanted to let you know the link didn't work (there was just one too many "n's" in the "connect" portion, just wanted to tell you before you get flooded with "the link doesn't work" emails"). You need to go get some sleep girlfriend, you've got messages today showing 4:00 a.m - you deserve some sleep!!!

Thanks for thinking so hard for new ideas for all of us.

Tricia- Thanks for the reminder. The site has some very good info for moms. I remember when you first started asking members of The DIS for contests to post on the site.

Tasha- Love your new siggie pics. :)

I absolutely want to move forward with this. Check out the site and email me with what you find on there that you are interested in. It may mean even adding another blog link just for you if you have an area that you are really interested in and think you could keep up with a blog. You would have to post at a minimum each week. There would have to be some kind of theme. And we would have to think of links that would make you some money. One great example would be reviewing children's books. We could put an Amazon or Barnes and Noble link in for every book that you review. Then you would get paid on anyone that bought ANYTHING through that link (even something besides the book you reviewed).

Here's a site that could use some major work. You can see that I already have the basics set up for it:

http://www.digitalpictureking.com/

It just needs tlc. Someone to post their digital pictures. How they take them, where they get them developed, etc. It could really be a nice little site. And we could share all of the money that is made through the links on the right side of the page (all of the free picture links) as well as adding a section for places to buy camera equipment, printers, etc.

I sure wish I was computer savvy....I am thinking of either going back to school...yuck....or something. BUT I want my summers off and want to be home before and after school. That does not leave for many choices. Either work from home (computer or babysit) or work at the school - no degree, so I cannot sub in Ohio.

AAUUGGHH!!!! New career???? At 36, I am getting a late start!!!!

So, I do want to congratulate you Tricia. Job well done for being able to work from home!

Not all of it takes being computer savvy. If you can post in forums, you can post in a blog. And if you can post in a blog, you can generate enough content to make money.

Hey Tricia, I signed up to join helping moms a while back but I dont think I was ever joined because I dont get any emails or anything. I would love to help out with this site in any way I can. I have read many, many books in the past couple of months I could review. I could also maybe help with a section on moms who are also students??? I think that there are probably many opportunities to help out over there with a little guidance from you.
Also,
There is a link on there about click n read phonics. Is there a way to get an offer over here for that? I think DD5 would love that!

Well, I definitely can post in a blog. I would have some time to put some effort into something like that. I also can copy and paste!!! WOOHOO!!! So if I can do something, I would love the chance! I just need a direction...

I will go to that site again and thoroghly look at it. :)

Let's think about picking a night between Sunday evening and Tuesday evening where we could do a little online seminar and I could show you all what I am thinking.

I could be good Sunday evening - later the better. Same with Monday. Tuesday I could if it was after 8:00 (PTO meeting at 6:30...) But I probably could make most nights work. What time in the evening were you thinking?

Tricia- I am a consultant with a company that sells children's books. It has an affiliate program that I am wanting to participate in in order to generate some sales over on my website. Is that something that would be possible at HMC (or even SR)? Is that even close to what you meant by internet marketing? Even if it isn't possible, I would still be interested in helping with the site.

Also,
