They are meant as an incentive. While you might have different ideas about how things should be run around here they are not your decisions to make they are Tricia's and she has to walk a thin line between making her members and her advertisers/survey companies happy or else we would not have all of the opportunities we have. While I see your frustrations and experience them occasionally myself I think that saying that offering contests is a bad idea on Tricia's part is a little unkind.
Or perhaps we should only games and contests when our members feel its more convenient for them or maybe not even at all.
BTW, if you want to feel frustration, try pleasing over 15,000 people.
If you think you know all the answers, it just means you haven't been asked all the questions.
