They also said something about the protein in the formula not agreeing with the baby either. They just changed her to a brand new formula (this is 3rd kind since Monday) and put her on a medication for the food not moving fast enough through her stomach challenge. She was very cranky and seems to have alot of gas. I tried to give her her next feeding (4 hours in between) and all she did was scream and want to go back to sleep after just waking up from a 3 hour nap. For now, no tube feedings which is great news. I'll post again when I hear from her parents. Thank you all so much for the suggestions, hugs, thoughts, and prayers.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for the baby. It is so wrong for things like this to happen to innocent babies!

The baby came home from the hospital after 1 week. The doctor wanted to do an NG tube for feeding but we came up with a crazy idea that they are letting us try first. They want her to eat 4 oz. every feeding. What she doesn't eat on her own with a bottle, we feed her thru an eye dropper. What is left, we try to mix cereal and feed it to her. My first feeding with her was 1.5 oz, 1 oz. with the dropper and the rest we finished with cereal. It took 2.5 hrs... She took a 3 hour nap and was ready for the next feeding. She gobbled up 3.5 oz right away, took 3 minutes. I then did everything but stand on my head but she finished another 1.5 oz, took another 40 minutes. After my car not starting this morning, my neighbor taking me to work, and facing another snow storm tomorrow, what was my thank you? I made her laugh out loud for the first time for me! She absolutely had me rolling! When her Mommy got home from work she was crying. Her husband who works from home called her and told her I got the baby to drink 4.5 oz. She was thrilled and relieved. I had a great day after all!
