has anyone received anything from them?

i received a letter today that says i won $XX amount.

it also says in the letter head

sponsor: publisher's clearing house, readers digest, onlne games.

this one is not one of those, all you have to do is cash the check and give us xx amount of money (nigeria scam).

my real question is: how do we know when we are getting scammed or not?


i mean isn't it possible to win one of these things we all sign up for? someone wins this stuff right?

how can i tell if its legit or not?

Did it come via registered mail, Fedex, or UPS? (something requiring a delivery signature?)

If not, I'd assume it's a fake.

i just found a site about rip-offs and this one is there.

i sort of figured it was a scam, just had to be sure about it.
